A Kilt Pin is a decorative pin used on the lower apron of a kilt. This unique design from one of Scotland's leading artisan accessory producers commemorates the distinctive leather shield used in countless battles across the Highlands in days gone by.

Legend suggests that its usage began in the Victorian era when Queen Victoria used a brooch to preserve the modesty of a soldier wearing a kilt. Whilst this tale suggests that the kilt pin now exists to keep the kilt closed, it is in fact used more as a decorative piece, and is pinned through only one layer of the kilt, not two.

This traditional Targe kilt pin has been handcrafted in Scotland from the finest pewter and is available with a choice of 5 different finishes.
