The Fort William Mountain Festival

By Sophie

This year, from the 18th to the 22nd of February, crowds will flock to Fort William, donning their outdoor gear, for the annual mountain festival. Each year the festival takes place in this picturesque northern town, to celebrate mountain culture.

The festival includes lectures, demonstrations, exhibitions and films, however you don't need to remain a spectator. There are plenty of physical activities to get involved in too. Choose from guided walks, skiing and boarding lessons, climbing, and winter walking workshops. Why not explore your creative side on the writers' afternoon or music workshop too? There really is something here for everyone and what better mixture of activities to celebrate mountain culture?

One of the biggest events of the year for the outdoor capital of the UK, people travel from all over the UK and even further afield, to the ever-improving festival. A must for anyone with an interest in the outdoors, this is the perfect way to explore the Scottish Highlands.
