Swatch of Mathieson (Carnegie) personal
Strathmore Woollens
W60 Worsted Kilting Double Width (WOB)
Design details
This quality range of mediumweight kilting fabrics reintroduce some of the original tartans produced by Wilsons of Bannockburn, Scotland's first major commercial tartan weaver. The tartans have been reproduced in Wilson's original colours and date back to the 1840s. Wilson's colours used the traditional technique of blending lighter and darker shades to give a balance to their patterns, rather than using the more contemporary practise of modern and ancient colours. These fabrics have a kilting selvedge.
