Originally worn under the armpit, the sgian dubh came to be tucked into the garter, or hose, by way of displaying concealed weapons when entering a friend's home. This practice has lasted through the centuries, and now it is considered an essential part of highland dress.
This dummy sgian dubh is made entirely from hard black plastic, with a chrome plastic 'butt' and a plastic topaz (yellow) stone for decoration. This style is preferred when it's not suitable to wear a real bladed sgian dubh, for example when flying.

About Scotweb Originals
Scotweb Originals are products we've designed to our own demanding specifications, or sourced from recommended producers to a standard of which we're justly proud. The brand on the label may vary, but the quality is always what you'd expect from Scotweb.
In creating this exclusive range, our first thought is whether we'd wish to own such an item ourselves, or give it to our own loved ones. If it passes this demanding test, we believe you'll probably love it too. We hope so.
